Join Scenic Rivers Land Trust’s staff, along with members of the SERC team, for a guided hike of the forever protected Contee Farm portion of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center campus in celebration of Maryland Day 2026! Learn the history of the land and take in spectacular views. Be sure to show off your Maryland pride by wearing your favorite piece of “Maryland merch” on the hike!
All ages welcome, but please be aware that we will hike on unpaved trails through woods and fields. Pets are not permitted on the SERC campus and closed toe shoes are required. Length: 2-3 miles.
Parking: Park at Woodlawn in the gravel lot to the left of Woodlawn, just past security. It is the first left. Walk behind the building and meet group at the side of the building.
You will be required to check in at the security booth upon entering the campus.
