BoCF advocates for equitable resource allocation to preserve historical Black Heritage sites at the water's edge on the Chesapeake Watershed. We promote environmental justice for land/water conservation with the research to document and share place-based story telling from the arrival of the enslaved Africans on the Chesapeake Bay, and the contributions of the descendant Black Watermen in establishing the region's standing as a global powerhouse in the maritime trades and seafood industries.
